Fordite, Detroit Agate, Motor Agate, detroit Paint
This is an incredible and rare material we got from Helen Johnson in Illinois that was actually collected many years ago by her husband and his rockhound buddies. It is colorful layers of paint that built up in the areas where they painted cars before modern technology! The actual Ford above is a 1929 Ford that belongs to Jack Wilson of Seaside Oregon (Dad!) Unfortunately it has been many years since they have painted cars this way, and this material is very rare and no longer available - It is great to work and we have some great pieces to offer you here!
