Sonoran Dendritic Rhyolite
We have grown to really appreciate this incredible stone that was the featured stone at the Arizona Gem and Mineral shows last year – We were so glad to see a great rise in the popularity of it at the shows this year – We got more rough and created some more great cabochons from it this year – It has so many different patterns and colors it goes with just about everything.
We were lucky enough to meet the person who discovered it and named it – His name is John F. Heusler with Heusler Academy and Slabs to Cabs. His stone work and Jewelry design was featured in Lapidary Journal in May/June 2012. We hope to continue to create and add more of this great stone for our customers. We have 6 pages of them on our web site! Check them out here
Squirrel Tail Rhyolite
This is a great stone from Mexico we really like – We have purchased it over the last few years in Quartzite from a friend/dealer who mines it in Mexico – It has really great colors and patterns that are hard to capture in the photos – We have worked it up and created a new category on our web site – The earth tone coloring and patterns are very unique and could be used in elegant or casual jewelry. Take a look here and let us know if you would like additional photos or if you have questions.
We have added some more great Sonora Sunrise Cabochons to our Web Site here and added some to our Etsy shop also here. This is such a great stone! Unfortunately, from what we understand there is no more coming out of the mining area this came from in Mexico – the ‘vein’ has run out – We are lucky to have some of the great material left to offer!
We have added some more cabochons of the great stone from Death Valley California called Indian Paint. This stone is great to work with! We were able to create some very ‘scenic’ cabs from it. We understand that this area is no longer accessible to collect so we are lucky to have gotten the great stones that we have! Check them out here.
